New Workshop for 2012 Look with a View Necklace features a tiny beaded fine brass Kaleidoscope. The Kaleidoscope is filled with colored glass gems in assorted shapes for your viewing pleasure. On each end of the Kaleidoscope will be a muli-colored beaded cap which is done in peyote stitch using decreases or increases. The caps are embellished with crystals, seedbeads and tiny bezeled pearls. The body of the Kaleidoscope is covered with a skin of peyote stitch and embellished with crystals and assorted sizes of seedbeads. Loops are attached to the top of the Kaleidoscope so that it can hang from a beautiful embellished length of beaded chain. The Kaleidoscope hangs from a embellished beaded component (centerpiece) which allows for the Kaleidoscope to be removed from the necklace strand so that you can look thru it. The necklace strand part of the Kaleidoscope is a continuous length of twisted Ndebele (herringbone) rope.

New Work Shop I had originally designed the pendant portion of this necklace for the Atlanta Bead Society. I enjoyed making the pendant and wanted to expand the design to include the necklace straps. My inspiration for the necklace comes from the ladies of the south. I envisioned genteel belle’s known for their grace, hospitality and preservation of tradition. When I designed the necklace I wanted it to have an old world look to it that could represent the grace, elegance and style of the south.

New Workshop The pendant is a diamond shaped frame done in two colors of beads. One color is overlaid on top of a base color and gives the appearance of gilding over the top of the frame. Inset into the center of the frame is another diamond shape done in crystals which frame out a large pearl. Hanging from the bottom of the pendant is a embellished drop made up of beads with a bezeled pearl at its bottom. The straps of the necklace feature a matching square of crystals and pearls which repeats the pattern of the center of the pendant. Herringbone loops with inset pearls make up the rest of the necklace strap. Each section of the inset pearls within the strap has a tiny Fleur De Le leaf made out of beads, and pearls. The closure is a lovely little button with a loop at the ends of the necklace strap.

I was inspired by the beautiful and graceful jellyfish which roam our precious oceans. Sea Nettles are a type of jellyfish that have a large crown with long flowing tentacles’ hanging beneath it.
Pearls and crystals are woven together to create oblong beads. These oblong beads are connected to one another with long strands of seedbeads embellished with more pearls and crystals. The necklace has a fluid feel to it and drapes beautifully around the neck. The center piece of the necklace has floating round shaped beaded beads which match the color theme of the necklace. Hanging from these floating round bead beads is a large three dimensional diamond shaped pendant constructed with pearls and round crystals. The closure at the end of the necklace is a lovely flat button made up of seedbeads and pearls. A loop of beads slips over the button to secure the necklace around your neck.

This bracelet has luscious dimensional multi layered tiles. Each tile has a base layer with a 2nd overlay sewn on to it. Another layer of beads is sewn onto the 2nd overlay and sculptured into an oval frame. This frame of beads supports and holds a Swarovski oval stone. The stone is secured to the bead frame with a bezel made up of delicas and seedbeads. The finishing touch to the bezel is tiny loops of beads which lock in the oval stone. Tiny picots adorn the perimeter of the oval framing. The finished tiles are then connected to one another with a netting stitch and embellished with crystals. A peyote tube capped off with daisy spacers is captured within the netted connecting circle of beads between each tile. The bracelet closure has an overlaying tile which snaps down onto a peyote tab which gives the bracelet a continuous look.
